Apartment Review
Stonehaven is great!
Review Date: 5/23/2008 Reviewer: Anonymous
I have been here for two months now. I have almost nothing but positive things to say. I had never had an apartment before, but I researched via this website and others before I chose Stonehaven and I had to wait two months for a unit of my choice opened up. I took into consideration the location, price, and resident reviews on this site and others. All things considered, Stonehaven is great and I am very happy here. Let me address each section of the review. 1. Security Stonehaven is a gated community. An issue I have is that everyone I know who lives here, both currently and from years ago, all use the same code to enter the gate. THAT is not good security and upsets me. Luckilly, I have a garage here so it's not a big deal. If I didn't have a garage, I would go down to the office and demand they fix this issue. 2. Parking There's a lot of parking here but if you're getting home in the late evening hours (like after 6:30-7:00) then it looks like you may have to park a short walk away. At least, I would if I didn't have a garage as the spaces in my area of the property are always taken by the evening hours. At other times of the day, however, there's always plenty of open spots all over. 3. Appearance/Upkeep The staff does a great job of keeping a clean and friendly environment around the apartments. They're always doing touch-up painting and/or planting/trimming the bushes, flowers, etc. The property is well taken care of for sure. 4. Management/Staff All of my experiences with the office staff have been great. They're very friendly and always try to help fix your issues/concerns and make you happy. I've been very pleased. 5. Maintenance I had a minor issue with my air conditioning not cooling my apartment even 1 degree after 4 hours. They said they'd fix it the next day but didn't and I had to bug the staff a couple more times for them to take care of it. Unless your problem is an "emergency", then you have to 'wait' possibly a few days for them to fix an issue. So if you have a broken window, for example, I'm sure they'll fix it ASAP. But if you have a kitchen cabinet door fall off the hinges, it could be a few days for them to come and fix it. 6. Condition of Unit The condition of my unit was great. They painted it and cleaned the carpet extremely well. The carpet seems either new or in tip-top shape as I couldn't tell the difference. The carpet also seems to be high quality and I really do like it a lot. They really clean their units top to bottom before a new person moves in, that's for sure. 7. Noise Level I rarely hear any neighbors at all. When I do, it's never people or music I hear but the occassional door slam, for example. It rarely happens and for the most part I hear nothing at all. So, overall, I am very pleased. As you can tell, it's not perfect and I have stated a few concerns/issues you may have. They're all minor concerns except for the gate code issue which would be a huge concern if you don't have your own garage. The fact that I had to wait 2 months to move in really speaks for itself in that people are happy here and want to stay. Now I'm one of those people as I am very impressed and pleased. J. Hurley |
